New Single: "Summer Days" by penny bored

Motivational Muses Review | by: Anastasia Logan

Released on: November 20, 2020

"Summer Days," the debut single from penny bored, tackles the existential crisis of not having everything figured out and being overwhelmed with life. Vocalist Faith Alesia worked alongside Ryan Sword to create a lyrically powerful track.

Alesia's vocals float above instrumentals that are reminiscent of the early 2000s. Little moments of nostalgia are sprinkled throughout this track to showcase how rapidly time can pass.

I am amazed by how much dynamics could be fit into this minute and a half long track. If I had to pick my favorite moment, it would have to be the transition at the beginning. The use of natural sound adds a bit of spice to this indie-pop track! It also allows for a smooth segway without the feeling of being rushed. Shout out to Spencer Trinidad for the flawless production!

Short and sweet, "Summer Days" is a reminder that it's okay to freak out about life just a little bit. But make sure to keep moving because everything will eventually fall into place. With all of that said, one question remains, what does penny bored have in store for the future?
